Location
WISE-2009 will take place at the Arizona Biltmore
Resort & Spa.
This distinguished venue is a beautiful Waldorf-Astoria resort, and we
hope it will enhance the 20th Anniversary WISE experience. You may
consider arriving a day or two early to enjoy this property! In addition to the block of rooms we
reserved
for Sunday December 13 and Monday December 14, a limited number of
rooms is available at the WISE rate for December 11-12 and December
15-16.

Use Group/Convention code WPCS (under "Special Accounts" heading, after
specifying the dates and room preferences).
The
WISE room rate is $169/night and it shows as the rate for the W.P.
CAREY SCHOOL. There
is a mandatory $25/night resort fee covering access to the spa and
fitness center, high speed internet, use of the 18 hole putting course,
local calls and long distance access. During online reservations this
will show as the standard $28/night fee, but the discounted $25 rate
will show on your actual bill.
Please
note that the resort fee isn't included in the total estimated cost of
your reservation.
The
Phoenix Airport is large, and you need to take a shuttle to/from the
rental cars area. Please take this into consideration for your
departure flight and allow an extra 30 min to drop off a rental car. If
you only require transportation to/from the WISE and ICIS hotels, you
may want to take a taxi or use a shuttle service instead of renting a
car. If you do rent a car, the Biltmore charges $12/night for
self-parking and $27/night for valet parking and parking charges are
comparable at the ICIS hotel.
Transportation to/from Airport and Marriott Desert Ridge (ICIS hotel)
Airport:
The
Biltmore Concierge recommends ExecuCar Town Car Service (602-232-4600),
which has cars waiting at the hotel. The rate to/from Sky Harbor
Airport is $33, and 4 people can share a car at this rate. The trip is
5.5 miles and takes 20-25 minutes. Other options include taxis which
run $22-$32 one-way, or the SuperShuttle service at $14 per person.
Marriott Desert Ridge Resort:
To
go to the ICIS 2009 hotel from the Arizona Biltmore, the ExecuCar sedan
rate is $46 and can be shared among 4 people. The trip is 15 miles, and
takes 20-25 minutes. The WISE Co-Chairs arrange for transportation to
ICIS via the ExecuCar Van Service late on Tuesday afternoon. The rate
is $110 per van, which can be split by up to 10 passengers.

Thank
you for choosing to stay at the “Jewel of the Desert”. We look
forward to making your stay special. Regarding transportation to
and from the airport, as well as point-to-point transportation around
the Valley, we usually recommend using the ExecuCar town car
service. This is a very professional, courteous, and reliable
transportation company contracted through the Biltmore and they are
capable of accommodating up to four guests per car (depending on the
quantity of luggage). For airport pick-up, ExecuCar provides
will-call transportation for $33. For this service, you would
simply contact ExecuCar at (602) 232-4600 upon arrival at the
airport. The driver will then be waiting for you just outside the
terminal. If you would like assistance with your luggage, you can
arrange a “meet and greet” pickup for $58 by contacting ExecuCar
directly or by speaking with any one of the Biltmore Concierge Desk
staff. ExecuCar does provide point-to-point transportation for
hotel guests with flat rates dependent upon the traveling distance.
Other
transportation options include taxis which run approximately $22-$32
each way, or a private shuttle service which is generally $15 per
person.
