Dan Pelson, Chairman
and CEO
Dan Pelson is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bolt, Inc., a leading
marketing services company focused on teens and young adults. Dan co-founded
Bolt in September 1996, making the company one of the first to recognize
the value in empowering teens and young adults and in doing so, provide
marketers with an outlet to reach this critical demographic. In the past
four years under his strategic direction, Bolt has expanded beyond its
initial Bolt.com site into multiple platforms that include wireless access,
co-branded sites (with aol.Bolt.com) and global sites in the UK, Canada
and Australia. Bolt has over 6 million members and is recognized by leading
Fortune 500 companies as the partner of choice for building relationships
with the youth market. Dan was also chairman of Concrete Media, an Internet
Services company that he co-founded in 1996.
Prior to founding Bolt, Dan created Word in 1994, one of the first advertising-supported
online magazines, which was acquired by Icon CMT Corporation. From 1988
to 1993, he served as a marketing, sales and product development executive
for Sun Microsystems and honed his skills in marketing services to the
media industry. Dan serves on the Board of Directors for Teach for America.
Dan holds a B.A. degree in political science and economics from Colgate
University and a M.B.A. from New York University's Stern School of Business.
