to help students learn about career opportunities in the financial sector
and financial functions in other sectors.
What are the events that our firm can sponsor?
- GFA Conference - Each year, the club assembles leading practitioners from a particular industry to discuss major market trends. A career fair typically follows the speakers and panels. These practitioners include CEOs, senior research analysts, and top Stern professors.
- GFA Hours - Perhaps the most popular and heavily attended weekly event for Stern students, the GFA Hour provides corporations with a forum to interact with and educate our members through the use of case studies or industry and product reviews. Each presentation is followed by an interactive Q & A session. GFA Hours are an excellent way to raise awareness about your company and to generate interest in available opportunities.
- Training the Street Valuation Seminar - The GFA annually partners with Training the Street Inc. to deliver an educational seminar focused on Corporate Finance Valuation. Held in January, this seminar is a great complement to NYU Stern's robust finance curriculum. The Valuation seminar succeeds in generating standing room only attendance each year and is considered essential by GFA members to prepare for the summer internship interview process.
- Industry Career Panels - As new areas of finance emerge or grow in student popularity, the club creates programming to educate its members about these exciting areas. Recently developed programming includes an industry panel on corporate finance.
What financial institutions have sponsored events in the past?
Sponsorships for these events have come from all facets of the corporate world. Most major investment and commercial banks have sponsored at least one GFA event over the past few years, and the corporate finance departments of many Fortune 500 companies have strong relationships with the club as well.
Other ways to get involved
